Calling all Southern cooks! I am an Oregon girl by birth, but grew up in Southern Californa; I now live in Montana. I have a friend who was raised in Memphis and he says that "if you haven't had Southern cooking you just haven't lived!" Well, I disagree with that, but I'm willing to try making black-eyed peas and other things. Send me your recipes, please!
I'm thinking about doing a little meet up at a restaurant in the 'north of Atlanta' area in June. I know there will be a much bigger meet up next spring is Savannah. I was talking with Millie Johnson about it. She lives in northern Alabama. We haven't set a place or a date yet, just wanted to throw it out there and see what everyone thinks. Does anyone out there have a good recipe for coleslaw.. that does not have a mayo base? Years ago, had slaw here in GA that had a sweetn sour type dressing, like a vinagrette almost.. was thinking had the recipe but, can't find! Help please..and tyvm!
i remember as a child, my mom did quite a bit of canning, she always made this pepper jelly that i totally loved! would love to find a recipe to try to make myself (as she passed on w/o sharing the recipe). it was made with sweet bell peppers some batches were red, others green .. all delicious! does any body know of a good recipe they would like to share for this? would really appreciate it!
