Many times when I'm throwing things together in a "made up on the fly" recipe, I end up using cream soups as a base. As a stay at home mother of 2, I love the ease of "one pot wonders", (which many of the recipes end up being). Please feel free to share your own recipes you've found that take advantage of the ingredient.
Back in the day when my mom was working, she would have me start the supper. Apparently i used to make elbow macaroni and mix in the cream of mushroom soup(so good). After i got married, and was at my parents house, i must've been looking for something to make. I asked my sister, where is some cream some of mushroom soup, she replied,Shell the crew of mushroom soup moved out when you did! That was over 30 years ago! Thank goodness my sons have inherited the taste for my little side dish! My husband not so much!

I used cream of mushroom and cream of chicken in alot of recipes- they are a quick and yummy way to get something on the table for my family. My family thinks I've done something great when I just pour cream of chicken over some chicken breasts and bake them in the oven...they love the "gravy"- sometimes I add some pepper and garlic powder as seasonings, but even just plain it works!
I love using cream of celery soup when I make chicken and dressing or (stuffing to some). I love the flavor celery gives to the dish but don't like to get a piece of celery in my mouth. I will also add cream of chicken soup for extra richness. Janice Little
I'm so glad to have found this group... I love using cream of onion soup along with the mushroom... it is made by Campbell, and is delicious to have for flavor... lots of markets don't stock this soup... the ones around me, I have asked and asked until they got it... Walmart is now carrying it... I love it.... I talked to gal at Campbell's to see what the story was on this... and she said it just seemed to be passed over by retailers.... well, I'm one customer that is demanding they stock it... move over tomato and mushroom soup and give me a slot for my cream of onion soup... !!!!! I have many friends who "pooh pooh" my use of Canned Cream of Mushroom Soup (and/ or Cream of Chicken, Cream of Potato, etc.). So I was excited when I saw this group. I LOVE to use the canned soups! They are wonderful to add body, flavor, whatever to so many dishes! Will have to get out some of my better recipes using the COM soup.... I have many!
