For anyone who's trying to eat healthy,yet have the delicious foods that we crave. We all fall off the bag wagon @ times,trying to(have our cake & eat it too)as the saying goes;but we get up & start a new day.Any & all recipes,new friendships,& wanting a support group welcome.

I am in a Biggest Loser type challenge at my local Y. We work with a trainer 2x a week in a small group, and compete with other teams for weight lost. I have been doing it for 1.5 years and am down 42 pounds (baby weight). Looking for support, new recipes and ideas so my journey doesn't get stale/boring!

My name is Gwen and I am approaching my 50th birthday. I have struggled all my life with weight issues. I am TIRED of diets and I know that truly the only way to lose weight is to eat less and move more. I wish I had all the money on spent on empty promises of weight loss in pills, programs, etc. I'm sure programs work, I just get so stressed out tracking, counting, weighing, etc. I don't want to spend the rest of my life doing this anymore. Anyway, I have decided that with all of my knowledge (not bragging) about proper eating and portion control, I am going to follow my OWN diet plan. I will make sure I'm eating veggies, fruits, whole grains, all the healthy things and exercise. I have got to watch my portions!! That's a biggy no matter how healthy you eat. So, that's where I'm at right now. I have tons of healthy recipes that I will share from all of the diet books I have. We can do this and we don't have to be a slave to our weight loss struggles. Life is to short to constantly be rehashing the same thing over and over and over (like I did). Glad to meet you!!!

My husband and I go to the YMCA every mon.-Fri. to workout for an hour or do cardio. We are both over weight and want to get healthier and in better shape to be able to do the things we used to enjoy doing but can no longer do because we are so out of shape.
I really started putting on the weight in 2009 after I quit smoking and before I knew it, I gained over 70 pounds and I have not been abe to get rid of it. I started working out, and walking last December, and trying to make better food choices. I have managed to loose 29 pounds thus far, but still have a long way to go.
Looking forward to finding some good healthy recipes and support as I continue on my new lifestyle changes. Hopefully, this group will provide that for me.
I will be happy to share my lighter and healthier recipe attemps with others as well.
