Hey!!! well my names Emma i'm 27 and desperately wanting to lose weight which has crept up over the last year. I am starting my diet tomorrow which includes just eating healthy food without the picking in between. I am currently a size 18-20 and need to get back down to a size 12 so hopefully i will get there with the help of the food on this site and this group thanx xxxxx

Wondering where I've been?

Well, I guess I will start with my own health issues. I have fibromyalgia with chronic fatigue, polymyalgia, and microcytic anemia, plus even though my Rheumatoid Arthritis bloodwork comes back negative (or in the normal range on my labs), the Rheumatologist finally did what they call an RA x-ray and it showed moderate disease. I feel really awful that I have not been able to lead this group the way I intended, but I am so glad to see you helping each other! Thank you. As if my own health issues have not been enough to keep me busy, my 53 year old sister had breast cancer about 18 months ago, and just as she was feeling stronger, and getting around better than I do, spinal meningitis hit her. It took 2 different hospitals, several different physicians, and a spinal tap, to figure out what was wrong with her. In a normal person this disease runs its course in 2-3 weeks, it took her 10! and she was so very weak and dehydradated from all the vomiting, it was a hard decision for the dr's to finally let her go home. One week after she got home (she has been staying with my mom), she had a stroke that has affected her right eye, and had a blood clot that went through the back of the eye. They feel that they have that under control with physical therapy, and medication. Then, 2 weeks ago, we found out she had a rather large whole in the back of her heart! They told us it was letting food waste just flow back and forth into and out of the hole, so last week she had surgery to repair that. I pray God please let this be the last of her ailments. Due to my illnesses (and the meds I'm on for them), I am not able to drive, and not being able to see her a lot has been very hard on me. I must depend on my husband or my children who all work very hard, and a lot of hours, to take me the 1 1/2 hour drive to spend time with her, and by the time I get back home it has been AT LEAST a 9 hour day for me which puts me in bed for about 2 days to start to regain my strength. PLEASE GROUP, never feel like I have forgotten you. I think about you EVERY day, and send prayers up for you all, any time you come to mind. Thank you all for being a part of my group, and please pray for healing and strength, so I can help you when you need it. I would love to get to know all of you as individuals someday! nutritional content recipes

I would like to know where I can get the nutritional facts on any/all recipes;I have a frozen yogurt store,and am going to add baked goods,but I must state calories etc.
Does anyone have a suggestion for me?

Call me CRAZY!

Hi Everyone!
I look forward to talking and sharing with the group. I know everyone here has a similar goal. To eat healthier while loosing weight. My family has said I'm crazy for starting in the height of the holiday season but I think it's the best time to ward off the holiday weight gain.
Three weeks ago I started a 90 Day Health Challenge. My goals are to learn to eat healthier and loose 30 lbs by the end of January. I've already lost 16 lbs and 6 inches. I'm also looking for new, low calorie, high in nutrient ideas for snacks and meals.

well, i found out why i'm so exhausted. i saw my family dr 2 weeks ago, and he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue syndrome. he put me on a new med to stop the terrible "bone crushing" pain i was having, and it is helping some. but all i want to do is sleep most of the time...he had the lab take 5 vials of blood, testing for many autoimmune disorders like MS, RA, and more. he checked my sed rate and ANA levels too. i see him weds afternoon, and i sure hope he has some answers for me then. this is si frustrating. please keep me in your prayer, and i will keep you posted...thanks, jrae

zuchini fettucini

this is a blue ribbon winning recipe by rebecca winslow (congrats!). it sounds delish, but i made a few modifications to it to reduce the fat grams, so it would fit in my daily allowance of fat (15 grams). i would just use olive oil spray in my pan to saute the zuchini, and i would use fat free shredded cheddar cheese on the top of my portion. i think i would also add julienned yellow squash, onion, and red peppers to my zuchini for color and flavor (and you get a bigger portion size that way! lol)...i'm gonnna give this one a try!
