God save the Queen!!!!

I am soooo glad I found this group... I served a LDS Mission for my Church back in 1972 to 1974 and I fell in Love with England and the Britts...
Please allow me to join You all...

A Stranger in a Strange Land

I'm Nancy and I am from Idaho, US. I've recently married the love of my life who is 100% pure British. He is attempting to introduce me to the British cuisine and I've found that it is definitely not what most Americans think it is. I will say however, that nothing will ever convince me to try black pudding again.
There are so many recipes I'm very anxious to try, so I'm excited that this group exists to hopefully help me out with any questions or disasters that may arise.
One of the main changes I've had to make is to use metric measuring instead of American.
Thank goodness my husband is a fantastic cook himself and is very patient in teaching me. Wish me luck!

Hello all!

I just became the 51st member. Yay!! :) I am a Spanish lady married to a British man. I fill his tummy up with all my Spanish/Mexican food he can handle but also enjoy cooking Southern style and now learning to cook like a Brit. My husband is a good cook and has taught me so much but I want to get better at it. We are moving to the UK in about a year and want to learn how to cook like a pro. I'm excited about the group and also to make new friends.

Not a lot of Americans love British food but I do enjoy it. Anyhoot. My husband complains that American food is so dry. I didn't know what he was talking about till he made me Brit food. We do tend to eat food dry a lot don't we :) Feel free to come over and say hello. Looking forward to learning lots! So post away!!

Iam British too

I am always looking for British recipes. I found my Grandmother's and my Mother's old recipe boxes. They are so much fun to go through.I like reading the differences in the style of cooking, the ingredents and the terms they use.
