Being originally from the south, I've picked my share of poke salat', wild blackberries, etc.. I've also cut many spears of wild asparagus along the roadside. I've cleaned, cooked & put up rabbit, squirrel, deer, quail, turkey, dove; you name it.
When I moved here to NW MO. 11 years ago, I began picking wild gooseberries & in the spring, hunting & fixin' Morel mushrooms. Now, I don't know many other women who do this. So I wanna know what you do with all that wild food you either find or shoot or whatever.
Here on J A P there are a lot of recipes, so if I want a recipe for jello, for instance, I will look at "ALL RECIPES". , but if I want to know about foods grown, found, caught, or shot in the wild, I would come here to "WILD THANG" So.....what I'm saying ladies & gents, is to keep it wild on this group! I & alot of others, don't want to have to sort through alot of jello recipes, for instance, to find a wild recipe or a fact about wild foods, or just a story about helping Grandmother pick that poke salat'. Yeah, we wanna hear that too. After all it is wild.

Hi all I'm Dave,
I'm originally from New Orleans and grew up cooking with my grandmother since age 6 or so. I've learned from several great Cajun/Creole and Southern Chefs. I also have been a chef on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
I'm most known for my Cajun/Creole dishes like Shrimp Creole, Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee, Gumbo's, soups and other seafood dishes. Love to grill great steaks and BBQ ribs.
I'll be putting my recipes here over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as mys family, friends and I do!
Please check out my kitchen here for some wonderful Cajun/Creole dishes. I posted a few today and will be doing a few everyday this week. I'll update pictures for each as I cook them again. justapinch.com/me/David_Kuhlmann
