I thought it would be fun to start a group for fond memories of childhood, easier times. The memories can be of food or anything that left an impression or that you wish was still around, It can be years ago or yesterday. The picture I have posted is of my sisters and I around 1957, The sprayed snow on the windows in the background made me laugh and put a lump in my throat at the same time I can remember how it smelled, we loved it!

I remember when I was a kid, we played hiding seek in the neighborhood, baseball in the street, everthing we did was outside, all the time, all day long. My family would go fishing and on vacations we'd go camping & fishing. I grew up on a river bank! I never wore shoes, not even in the winter, lol, and always had on shorts. We were talking about fishing and all on another site, to bad families don't take time to enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer much anymore. I know some do, but soooo many more don't. Even when my son was growing up, we would camp out all time time & fish, we don't do it anymore, but he still goes fishing some & now he takes his dirt bike to the lake to ride, he is totally an outdoor person, hopefully his kids will be to someday.
seems like just yesterday!I started my life in Mi. with this huge, old refigerator, and the young lady who gaveit to me had painted it light blue to go with her then kitchen! It was chore I didn't like to do...so waited till there was hardly anything in it!
I learned to use a computer in the late 90's, it was DOS, not WINDOWS, Word was WordPerfect, EXCEL was LOTUS, there was no ACCESS or POWERPOINT or all that other stuff...when did you first use a computer?????? This has to be a good conversation....
I want to invite you to join a new group for Mediterranean dishes called Mediterranean Flair. I have a background in this type of cooking, and have shared several recipes on the group. I bet some of you also have favorite Mediterranean recipes, from a grandmother or older friend, or from traveling and collecting recipes. Happy Mediterranean cooking!
