This group is for military Mom's and Wives, or if you have someone in the military that you ship food to. I thought this would be a great place to post recipes that ship well. I have a son in the Navy who is stationed across the country from me and I am always looking for recipes that I can ship to him.Post the recipe link if possible.
Now, he and his fiancée can finally get on with the business of planning their wedding, and he will be going back to school to finish he college education. He will be living in the western panhandle of Florida, so I see a trip down that way in my VERY NEAR FUTURE! ha!
I'm so proud of him, and will only rest easy once he's home, safe and sound!
We can't give details yet, but it will take place simultaneously in 10 cities around the U.S., and is being done to support and honor the Wounded Warriors Project. I registered for it last week, and am awaiting final confidential instructions on when/where to report. I just know it'll be somewhere in Washington, DC, and they'll let us know later today where to meet, and what we'll have to do. You can read that much of it on the website. After it's over, I'll post a link on Youtube for you all to see.
I'm so excited!

I am worried about my hubby eating healthy meals while I am gone since he is only capable of making pasta and hasn't adventured much further than tacos. He also works himself to death and sometimes forgets to eat or sleep. I was hoping to make MASS quantities of healthy meals for him to thaw and/or microwave so he won't become emaciated during that timeframe.
He will eat just about anything so please if you use a food vacuum sealer and have tried and true recipes please send them my way or post them! I am hoping to start the process tonight and have at least a month's worth of food into individual size portions for him to eat before I leave.

Please remember to thank The Giver for all our military serviced personnel and pray for their safe return to their loved ones.
This is the start of a lonely time for military personnel, away from home all thru the biggest holidays of the year ... Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. Keep them in your prayers, and don't forget to send them a little love note to let them know you appreciate what they're doing for US.

Especially, my biological father: John B. Gladney, Jr [retired, US Army, deceased]; my step-father, Max H. Stroppel, Sr, US Navy; my son, Andrew R. Howard, US Navy; my son, Jonathan W. Howard, US Navy; my BIL, Tom Flanagan, US AirForce; my cousin, Roger A. Wilson, US Army, retired; my BIL, Bob Grasziano, US Army; and soooooo many others.
I'm a very patriotic person, and grew up at one of the most prestigious military colleges in the world: United States Military Academy @ West Point, NY ... my parents still live there. So it was hard NOT to be patriotic, with all that pomp and circumstance going on around us all the time. LOL!
THANK YOU, Vets ... we appreciate all that you have sacrificed and are continuing to give, for US.
OH! My son, Jonathan, is currently serving and deployed aboard the USS John C. Stennis, "somewhere out there" in the mid-East. Not sure where he is. I'm very, very proud of him. Please keep him in your prayers.

Hats off to all of you who serve...and to your families who are "serving" at home, holding down the fort, waiting for your return. We are all so grateful!
Happy 4th of July, at home and abroad!

My son was in the Army for 4 years, my Hubby for 3.
We belong to a car club that has several military members of whom we send packages to at different times throughout the year.
I love JAP and all the wonderful groups in here.
