This group is all about all foods from soups to nuts and everything in between.

We began as a soup group but there are so many wonderful things you can add to soups that it's time to expand to include other things too.

So please feel free to share your wonderful foods and your friendship.

Please keep in mind that we do have a few reasonable rules that we request everyone abide by.

We are a safe group !

Please be nice and be respectful.

Do not come into this group with a hidden agenda because we will not tolerate bullies or posers.

No pornographic images will be permitted.

Nothing political ... it never ends well.

There is a wonderful group already established where you are welcome to share any and all of your political cartoons or complaints and everyone is welcome to join God, Guns, and Constitution which is located at this link -

We are here for sharing and happiness so let's all gather around the table and enjoy a warm hearty bowl or plate of something great from your kitchen !

So share on .. we have plenty of room for everyone and anything that makes your mealtimes delicious and memorable !

corned beef is in the crockpot

yes, I do mine in the crockpot. First I give it a good rinse in the sink. I sear it, nestle it on a bed of sliced onions & a couple of stalks of celery. I snuggle carrots and tators around it and use the little seasoning packet that comes with it, plus a bay leaf, another blanket of sliced onions. It will cook on low most of the day.

I have been using crock pot liners, they make clean up SO much can get them at a $Tree very reasonable. No more wrestling that big, slippery, soapy, wet crock! Just pull the liner out, toss it and give the crock a quick wipe with a paper towel. I'm short and messy, sometimes I spill. sigh I wash the lid and it's ready to go for the next time!

Happy St. Patty's Day

I just got home last night from visiting family in Texas and asked hubby this morning what he would like for me to cook for dinner. He said, "Look at that Irish Pub Food cookbook and pick out something you think I might like." I gave him three soups/stews to choose from (yes, it is still snowing here right now and he wanted something warm and winter-hearty". He chose The Classic Fish Chowder with halibut, potatoes, dill, half and half...bacon, celery....You know the stuff....really, it's just my mom's clam chowder but using halibut instead. I got some crusty sourdough bread to toast and go with. Still....I want the traditional corned beef, cabbage and potatoes and will be making that for tomorrow night's dinner. Peace out everyone. :)
