Well Stocked Pantry
I remember when I first ventured out on my own. There were so many things to buy, including groceries to stock the pantry. I wanted it all but was, of course, on a very tight budget. I had to get the most basic of items and gradually stock the others. Well, that was a long time ago. My opinion on what is essential has changed and the pantry is a lot bigger than it used to be. It is important to have food items in storage especially for spontaneous, quick, easy, healthy and creative cooking. There are items that are basic to almost any cooking. Other items are dependent on the type of cooking you do most often and the amount of storage space available.

In this group you can share quick and easy recipes that will get any meal on the table for your family.

ask and answer

just wanted to toss this out there I started one of those groups where cooks can come in and ask a question about anything cooking related so if you are a seasoned cook and can help please feel free to join to help others and if you need a question answered come on in personally I will do my best to answer and if I don't know the answer I am a very good researcher and will find the answser if all else fails the group is called ask and answer

Hi, this seems like a very informative group and I love Bonnie's additions! I hope to see more people join! Hey am I the only ones that has something in their pantry that keeps getting moved but never used when cleaning out time arrives?

Cooking from the Pantry - Dried Bead Guide

Use this guide to gauge how much dried beans to cook.

1/3 cup dry beans =1 cup cooked beans
1/2 cup dry beans =1 1/2 cups cooked beans
2/3 cup dry beans =2 cup cooked beans
1 cup dry beans =3 cups cooked beans
2 cups (1 pound) dry beans =6 cups cooked beans
