I never saw a tomato I didn't like.

Tomatoes come from the Americas. When Europeans first came here they thought the tomato was poisonous. The seeds were taken back to Europe but for many years they were grown only as an ornamental plant. Once they began to be eaten it took a number of years longer before they gained acceptance as a food plant.

Tomatoes are a fruit but they are included with the vegetables.
