The temperature outside was 38 degrees here this morning!

We're enjoying sunshine this afternoon, but it is windy and there are white caps on the sound! The heat is feeling good inside the house and we're wearing our winter weight clothing most days. Now I am thinking about Thanksgiving and the first thing I need to decide is what size turkey I will purchase and if it will be a whole one or a "hotel style". I keep reading recipes for pies and my mouth waters looking at them, will I make apple, pumpkin, pecan or another? The recipe for Pecan-Cheesecake looks delicious too. I love pies, don't you?

Hi, Beth, the weather here in Indy, has turn cold, we are 10-12 degrees below normal for this time of year, it was 33 at 9am this morning, with a high of 38. I bought a frozen pumpkin pie at the grocery today, it is in the oven right now, we will have sugar-free cool whip on top of it. It is smelling pretty good right now.

I do love pie, mostly fruit, but there are a few cream pies I like as well. My favorites are Rhubarb, Strawberry Rhubarb, Mincemeat, Apple, Cherry, Peach. Not necessarily in that order. I'm going to make a mincemeat pie for Thanksgiving, I don't expect many people will eat it, but my husband, myself. We are going to Hubby's son's for Thanksgiving day, there will be people there we do not know, so maybe some of them will like it.

Stay inside by the fire and keep warm. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, any pie you make will be a wonderful blessing.

We're also experiencing temperatures below normal today, it was 28 degrees earlier this morning! The high for the day is expected to be 40 degrees. We enjoy different pies, the old fashioned ones too. I love fruit pies especially! My husband loves one called Mock Cherry Pie, his mother made for the holidays, with cranberries.
