Why are you gluten free?

Thought I'd try out the new poll feature to find out why members of this group are gluten free.

My reason is not on the list:) I don't have an intolerance to gluten, just an allergy to wheat. The only easy way to eat wheat-free is with gluten free products and recipes.

@cindyLs, thanks for pointing this out... I was able to update one of the poll answer to include your allergy to wheat. I think most people's reaction to gluten is really from wheat.

I believe, I am allergic to Wheat, but have never been tested. Every time, I eat even 1 slice of Wheat Bread, I break out with Red Rash and Hives on my belly and generally they don't go away for about 3 weeks. So, I decided to give up all Gluten - Wheat, Rye, All Purpose Flour, etc. I feel much better these days. Slowly changing my recipes from All purpose and wheat flour to using Gluten Free flours for my recipes and of course searching for new ones. I prefer to mix my own Gluten Free flour for my recipes. Still searching for a really good Gluten Free Kolache recipe and few others...
