I’ve been cooking so much this year, that I’m trying to keep things uncomplicated for Easter. So, I’m planning an easy Easter menu. While these recipes are simple, they’re big on flavor.<\/p>\n

For an appetizer, I always serve deviled eggs. Janet Lagulli’s<\/a> (Bensalem, PA<\/a>) Deviled Easter Eggs<\/a> has a cute name and is also very tasty.<\/p>\n

“Deviled eggs were always one of my favorites in the spring\/summer,” says Janet. “I wanted to take it up a notch and do something different.”<\/p>\n

These devilishly delicious deviled eggs have an unusual flavor combination. The yolk filling is slightly tangy and savory. Blue cheese dressing isn’t an overpowering flavor but adds that “what is that” taste to the eggs.<\/p>\n

Baked ham is my traditional centerpiece and Kathy Kope<\/a> (El Mirage, AZ)<\/a> shared her Bourbon Honey Glazed Ham<\/a> that I enjoy.<\/p>\n

“My niece made this for Easter a few years ago and now we make it every Easter,” shares Kathy. “It’s so good.”<\/p>\n

I love cooking with bourbon when it’s combined with something sweet and savory. The glaze becomes thick as it cooks and becomes even thicker as it cools. Bourbon adds a little something to the glaze but it does not have a harsh alcohol taste. The flavors of the orange marmalade, bourbon, and honey are perfect.<\/p>\n

If you are doing brunch, Sherry Monfils<\/a> (Worcester, MA<\/a>) Easter Brunch Pie<\/a> is delicious.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes my dad would make this for Easter brunch, sometimes he would make it the weekend after Easter with leftover ham,” reveals Sherry. “Either way, it was always awesome and so easy to make.”<\/p>\n

The buttery flaky crust holds an egg and cheese mixture filled with chunks of savory ham. The cheeses and seasoning complement the ham perfectly. Ricotta cheese and eggs give this pie a different texture. The filling was a little bit softer than a quiche but still firm. It was a great surprise at how yummy it was.<\/p>\n

For sides, mashed potatoes and carrots are a classic. Marilyn Davidson<\/a> (San Diego, CA)<\/a> and Marsha Gardner<\/a> (Florala, AL<\/a>) shared two great recipes.<\/p>\n

“Any way to make kids eat their veggies,” jokes Marsha of her Honey Glazed Carrots<\/a>. “Adults love them prepared this way as well. Kid tested and mother approved.”<\/p>\n

These are easy enough for a weeknight meal but fancy enough for your holiday dinner. The honey enhances the natural sweetness of the carrots and they have the perfect hint of honey in every bite!<\/p>\n

Marilyn’s Easter Bunny Mashed Potatoes<\/a> are fun and festive. “If you have kids that don’t like veggies, try this one at Easter dinner,” thinks Marilyn. “This makes a very pretty and colorful side dish for Easter or any dinner.”<\/p>\n

These potatoes are nice and creamy with a pop of sweetness from the carrots. I love the added color the carrots give this dish, too.<\/p>\n
