Apples aren’t just for desserts. They can add a touch of sweetness to savory recipes too. If you’re looking to expand the way you enjoy apples this fall, try making one of these tasty and savory apple recipes.<\/p>\n

Cindy Ferguson<\/a> (Shepherdsville, KY<\/a>) was experimenting in her kitchen when she came up with her Apple Bacon Meatloaf<\/a>. “This turned out to be a great hit with the whole family,” shares Cindy.<\/p>\n

Meatloaf is always a favorite in my house and I love to make this when I’m looking to put a twist on meatloaf. Apple, apple butter, and applesauce are mixed into the meat. Chopped bacon is also added to give the meatloaf a very sweet and savory flavor profile. More apple butter and barbecue sauce are spread over the top to create the best tangy and sweet glaze.<\/p>\n

“I absolutely love prosciutto,” explains Amanda Smith<\/a> (Dunlap, IL<\/a>). “The combination of the apple and the prosciutto will surprise you with how delicious it tastes and how elegant it looks.”<\/p>\n

Amanda’s Apple & Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Breasts<\/a> are a fancy but easy stuffed chicken recipe. Serving stuffed chicken turns ordinary chicken breasts into a special meal.<\/p>\n

The sweet apple with the salty prosciutto is a match made in heaven. A cream sauce poured on top makes this an elegant dish. I enjoyed this dish a lot and highly recommend giving it a try.<\/p>\n

“Every time I make these they are the first appetizer that is gone,” reveals Melissa Baldan<\/a> (San Diego, CA<\/a>) of her Savory Apple Pinwheels<\/a>. “They are absolutely delish!”<\/p>\n

These pinwheels are a scrumptious appetizer. Made with ingredients you may have on hand, they’d even be good for a snack before dinner. The sweet apples are a nice contrast with the savory and flaky crescent roll dough and spices. Cumin adds an earthy flavor that I enjoyed with the apples. Chopped cashews add a little crunch. Yum!<\/p>\n

“I don’t really eat pork a lot… usually,” says Kimberly Kolligs<\/a> (Aberdeen, MD<\/a>). “But apples can make anything amazing! So juicy and flavorful, not to mention easy – I just love it!”<\/p>\n

This Apple Pork Loin<\/a> recipe has simple ingredients and the results are super tasty. The savory pork is cooked perfectly and pairs well with the fantastic apples and onions. Serve with egg noodles, it’s a delicious (and easy) dinner your family will love.<\/p>\n

Another pork recipe I like is Christi Cook’s <\/a>(Harbor Beach, MI<\/a>) Pork Chops With Cranberry Apple Relish<\/a>. They taste of fall.<\/p>\n

“This became one of my kid’s favorite,” says Christi and it became a favorite in my house too.<\/p>\n

The cranberry apple relish is the star of this dish. I could eat it off a cracker on its own. It’s tart, sweet, and lightly spiced with the cinnamon. There’s a delightful crunch from the walnuts. Simply superb! It’s a nice contrast to the savory pork. Try this relish with turkey or chicken breasts too.<\/p>\n
