My sweet tooth doesn’t take a break in the summertime. With all the fresh fruits available, I love to create easy and scrumptious desserts. They are a sweet ending to a cookout and a flavorful treat for my family during the week.<\/p>\n

“I was looking for something tangy, and I have always loved the texture and simplicity of a chess pie,” shares Bobbie Weiner<\/a> (Columbus, OH<\/a>). “My husband loves anything pineapple and I have a love of blueberries.” Bobbie combined the two and created an amazing Pineapple Blueberry Chess Pie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Who would have thought to combine blueberries with pineapple? It’s a great flavor combo. This pie is best served cold as Bobbie suggests. It’s slightly tart, sweet and bursts with flavor from the blueberries. A refreshing summer dessert.<\/p>\n

Lisa Logan’s<\/a> (Bowman, SC<\/a>) Creamy Cantaloupe Pie<\/a> is a favorite in her family. It’s unusual, delicious and become a favorite of mine too. If you like cantaloupe, then I suggest trying this. Bursting with flavor, it’s cool and creamy. The fresh whipped cream on top is perfect. <\/p>\n

Fruit salads are extremely popular in the summer. Cynthia Lancaster<\/a> (Houston, TX<\/a>) shared her recipe for Summer Fruit Salad<\/a> that is a fantastic dessert option. “Our summer family gatherings are never complete without this easy to prepare, absolutely wonderful treat,” says Cynthia. <\/p>\n

Tangy, fresh, and sweet, Cynthia’s fruit salad is fantastic. I really like that you can customize the recipe and use the fruit your family likes. Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, grapes… so many options. Mixing the fruit with the creamy dressing, we couldn’t get enough of this delicious fruit salad.<\/p>\n

“This Summertime Strawberry Pie<\/a> is a cold pie, not baked,” explains Rachel Weyerman<\/a> (Cloverdale, MI<\/a>). “The ginger ale gives a bit of a kick!” Five ingredients create a fantastic pie.<\/p>\n

After baking the pie crust, there is no need to turn on the oven which is ideal in the summertime. The ginger ale adds a great kick to complement the sweet strawberries. A dollop of whipped cream finishes this pie wonderfully. When presented it’s an impressive dessert. No one needs to know how easy it was to prepare.<\/p>\n

Scones are a treat for breakfast or dessert in my mind. Especially when they’re sprinkled with sugar like Joan Penney’s<\/a> (Platte City, MO<\/a>) Summer Scones<\/a> are. When baked, the sprinkled sugar creates a divine crunchy sugar crust.<\/p>\n

“Bright lemons just beg to pair with subtle blueberries,” thinks Joan and she’s right. It’s a fantastic summertime flavor combination. You can smell the lemon as you open the oven after baking. The dried blueberries are sweet and plump and help the center stay soft and tender. This is one delicious little scone. <\/p>\n

MiMi Marshall’s<\/a> (Richardson, TX<\/a>) Deep Summer Fruit Cobbler<\/a> is very easy to make and packed with summer fruits. I’m not sure I’ve ever had so many layers of fruit in one cobbler.<\/p>\n

“I needed to use some fruit and came up with this recipe,” reveals MiMi. She jazzes up a basic cobbler recipe with ripe peaches and nectarines. Then combines them with crisp apples and sweet red cherries. Oh my! I love the hint of cinnamon flavor and the added crunch from the nuts. This cobbler is so good.<\/p>\n
