Strawberry season is in full effect which puts a big smile on this girls face. They’re one of my favorite fruits and so good for you. Packed with vitamins B and C, fiber and high level of anti-oxidants, I’ll never say no to a bowl of strawberries. <\/p>\n

If you’re anything like me and want to put the spotlight on strawberries, take a look at one of these berry, berry good recipes.<\/p>\n

Rachel Weyerman’s<\/a><\/strong> Summertime Strawberry Pie<\/a><\/strong> has gotten rave reviews. Laura Ludovici<\/a><\/strong> (Hamburg, PA<\/a><\/strong>) shared that she made the pie with her youngest daughter. “I should have made two,” joked Laura. “With my family of six, it was gone in the wink of an eye.”<\/p>\n

“It’s a cold pie, not baked,” explains Rachel, which makes this great for the summertime when trying to keep the kitchen cool. Ginger ale adds a great kick to complement the sweet strawberries. A dollop of whipped cream on top finishes the pie wonderfully!<\/p>\n

Another fantastic no-bake dessert is Donna Will’s<\/a><\/strong> (Waldorf, MD<\/a><\/strong>) Delightfully Cool Summer Strawberry Torte<\/a><\/strong>. “This dish is a wonderful dessert for any occasion,” says Donna. “It’s great for parties or for a picnic.”<\/p>\n

Wherever you’re heading this weekend, or even if you’re just hanging out in the backyard, I suggest whipping up this easy dessert. This recipe requires a big bowl and not just because it makes a lot, but because everyone is going to want to eat a ton of this truly delightful dessert. It’s the perfect finish to any summertime meal.<\/p>\n

If you’re looking for a simple snack, check out Diana Perry’s<\/a><\/strong> Amaretto Dip with Strawberries<\/a><\/strong>. It’s so easy even a novice cook can make this.<\/p>\n

Diana describes the dip as “delicious and quite light.” She goes on to share that “it’s wonderful with fresh strawberries, [but] also very good with shortbread or gingersnap cookies.” Diana’s recipe is also creamy and super flavorful. Lora DiG<\/a><\/strong> (Staten Island, NY<\/a><\/strong>) suggests to “add extra amaretto” and I have to agree. Mmm mmm good.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite things to eat for a weekend breakfast is French toast. Stuff it with strawberries like Linda Kauppinen<\/a><\/strong> (West Palm Beach, FL<\/a><\/strong>) did and you’re speaking my language. <\/p>\n

“My son wanted something different to eat and I wanted to surprise him with something special,” explains Linda. “These came out with just a hint of sweetness.” <\/p>\n

I could eat the filling in Linda’s Fruit Stuffed French Toast<\/a><\/strong> by the spoonful. It has just the right amount of sweetness and the lemon juice is perfect to add a slight tartness. You can substitute other fruits too, but the strawberries were on point.<\/p>\n

If you find yourself with an abundance of berries, try making Bela Gaytan’s<\/a><\/strong> (Cleveland, TN<\/a><\/strong>) Strawberry Blackberry Jam with Lavender<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

“I gathered some blackberries from my property, in the hopes of making jam but I didn’t have enough,” reveals Bela. “I decided to use the strawberries from my recent trip to the farmer’s market… so delicious!” Wonderfully tart, this jam is simply scrumptious atop warm biscuits or drizzled on a lovely pound cake.<\/p>\n
