Who didn’t love a grilled cheese sandwich as a kid? Alone or with a bowl of tomato soup, I always had a big smile on my face when one appeared on my plate.<\/p>\n

Part of what I love about this sandwich as an adult are the endless combinations. All you need is two pieces of bread, butter (or mayo) cheese, and a creative mind. <\/p>\n

“Tired of the same old grilled cheese sandwiches,” asks Christine Fernandez<\/a><\/strong> (Sarasota, FL)<\/a><\/strong>. “This is one of my hubby’s favorites. So simple and yummy.”<\/p>\n

If you love BBQ and bacon (and who doesn’t), you will love Christine’s Bacon BBQ Grilled Cheese Sandwich<\/a><\/strong>. The sweetness of the barbecue sauce and the savory bacon pair really well together and smoked provolone is a great addition. This is a quick, easy and yummy lunch or dinner and a nice change from a plain grilled cheese. Your crew will love this!<\/p>\n

“This idea came about by trying to come up with a new way to enjoy leftover pulled pork barbecue and it turned out great,” explains Tammy Brownlow<\/a><\/strong> (Dallas, TX<\/a><\/strong>). “Sweet and smoky pulled pork with spiced baked apples and sharp white cheddar cheese grilled to perfection.”<\/p>\n

This Pulled Pork and Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwich<\/a><\/strong> has so much flavor that you cannot wait for the next bite! The sweet and savory flavors really have a great balance. This is definitely not your regular grilled cheese and a great way to reinvent leftovers.<\/p>\n

“Just a little upgraded grilled cheese sandwich which I really enjoy,” shares KatheyJo Hickey-Van Otten<\/a><\/strong> about her twist on a grilled cheese.<\/p>\n

KatheyJo’s Grilled Cheese Supreme<\/a><\/strong> is very easy and delicious! The Jewish rye with the combo of the cheeses is really good. The pepper jack gives the sandwich a little bite along with the onion. Tomato and banana peppers also add a ton of flavor too. The crunch of the bacon just sends it over the top!<\/p>\n

Not to be confused with KatheyJo’s supreme recipe, Cara Mastrangello’s<\/a><\/strong> (Albany, NY<\/a><\/strong>) Grilled Cheese Pizza Supreme<\/a><\/strong> takes everything you love about a pizza and turns it into a sandwich. Delicious!<\/p>\n

“Grilled cheese and pizza are my favorite foods, so why not make an ultimate food,” suggests Cara. I made two just how Cara wrote the recipe and they were great – mozzarella, provolone and Parmesan cheese, pepperoni, ham, black olives, torn basil and other goodies. <\/p>\n

The different cheeses and fresh basil are a very nice touch. You really do have the flavors of a pizza in the sandwich. Get creative and add your favorite pizza toppings… the options are endless.<\/p>\n

After one bite of Amy Freeze’s<\/a><\/strong> Grilled Pimento Cheese & Bacon with Pepper Jelly<\/a><\/strong>, it was all I thought about the rest of the afternoon. Seriously. <\/p>\n

“For me, my greatest grilled cheese mistake is trying to cram too much between two slices of bread,” jokes Amy. “My grilled cheeses always have stuff sliding and oozing out the sides. But, I\u2019ve always heard the messier, the better!\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy’s sandwich is ooey, gooey delicious! Pimento cheese is a favorite for this southern gal, and I love using it as a basis for a grilled cheese. It’s so creamy and melts nicely. You get a bit more sweet and spicy from the pepper jelly. Bacon adds a smoky finish, and we all know everything is better with bacon!<\/p>\n
