Christmas season should be called cookie season at my house! I bake batches and batches of cookies this time of year. <\/p>\n

I add some to my Christmas dessert table, but I also package them to give as gifts. A few special ones get left for Santa (we like to make sure he’s properly fed!). <\/p>\n

I’m compiling my list right now… and do I have some amazing Christmas cookie recipes<\/a><\/strong> to choose from!<\/p>\n

Gingerbread is a classic Christmas cookie and Doris Ware’s<\/a><\/strong> (Blair, OK<\/a><\/strong>) Gingerbread Cookies<\/a><\/strong> is a classic recipe. “All five of my kids and myself enjoyed making these,” reminisces Doris. “Each got to pick out their own cookie cutter, it sure was fun.”<\/p>\n

Doris’ classically awesome recipe is a welcome site at any holiday gathering. Who doesn’t love gingerbread men? It’s fun to use shaped cookie cutters and decorate each cookie with a look and a personality all other own. Plus, it’s a great recipe to get the family involved in. Get creative!<\/p>\n

Deb Crane<\/a><\/strong> (Eagle, WI<\/a><\/strong>) gets her grandchildren involved when making her Thumb Print Cookies<\/a><\/strong>. [These] turn out delicate and delectable,” says Deb. “This recipe has never failed me.”<\/p>\n

Reminiscent of pecan sandies, these gorgeous cookies are as tasty as they are festive. I’m a fan of these with raspberry preserves. But, use a preserve\/jelly your family likes. Deb uses apricot and strawberry for hers. I do suggest doubling this recipe… these cookies are going to be a big hit.<\/p>\n

“I usually bake about 20 different types of cookies for Christmas, but these Ricotta Orange Cookies with Dark Chocolate & Hazelnuts<\/a><\/strong> are hands down our most favorite,” shares Nadine Mesch<\/a><\/strong> (Mount Healthy, OH<\/a><\/strong>). “My kids have been known to take the entire tin and eat them all in one sitting!”<\/p>\n

I will be honest… when I first tried these, I may have taken an extra one or two (ok three). The ricotta makes the cookie really soft. The orange, dark chocolate and hazelnuts give them a wonderful flavor. <\/p>\n

The combinations of flavors in Cindy Sandberg’s<\/a><\/strong> (Carlisle, IN<\/a><\/strong>) Ginger Cream Molasses Sandwich Cookies<\/a><\/strong> is just so good! “I love molasses cookies and was trying to come up with a way to make them more special for the holidays,” Cindy explains. “The cream filling is not too sweet and the crystallized ginger’s the perfect special touch.”<\/p>\n

That ginger on top gives these flavorful cookies one last punch of flavor. And I love the sweet coating turbinado sugar adds. These cookies are sure to brighten up anyone’s day. <\/p>\n

“A great cookie for rolling out and cutting your favorite holiday shapes,” says Ann DeLong<\/a><\/strong> of her Orange Butter Cookies<\/a><\/strong> recipe. Orange zest adds a nice zing to these butter cookies. And the orange icing tops them off perfectly. They’ll be a nice addition to any holiday cookie tray. <\/p>\n

The intense chocolate and mint flavors in Tammy Brownlow’s<\/a><\/strong> (Dallas, TX<\/a><\/strong>) Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cookies<\/a><\/strong>is a classic holiday flavor combination that makes these one scrumptious cookies. “This cookie has the flavor of a perfect cup of cocoa with peppermint and a gooey marshmallow center,” describes Tammy.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t explain these cookies any better! They’re super easy to make which is an added bonus. I highly recommend you enjoy these right out of the oven. They’re good at room temperature, but they’re amazing when warm.<\/p>\n
