The Irish are famous for a few things. Beautiful landscapes, thatch cottages, rocky seascapes, rain, even their cuisine in recent years. But what the Irish really know well are their spirits. With St. Patrick’s Day<\/a><\/strong> next week, I figured it would be fun to incorporate a few of my favorite Irish flavors into desserts<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“I love to visit Ireland and after searching found recipes that when put together create a taste of the Emerald Isle,” shares Melanie Miller<\/a><\/strong>. Her Guinness, Bailey’s and Jameson Whiskey Cupcakes<\/a><\/strong> really encompass the favorite drinks from Ireland. <\/p>\n

What may at first seem to be an unlikely cupcake flavor turns out to be a real treat indeed! You can definitely taste all the different liquors in these sweet little cakes, so adjust the amounts to your liking. As a side note, we do not recommend driving if eating more than one of these!<\/p>\n

With the alcohol not baking out, Heather M. Baker’s<\/a><\/strong> Bailey’s Irish Cream Fudge<\/a><\/strong> is definitely not for the wee leprechauns. But, the older leprechauns are sure to enjoy this recipe! <\/p>\n

“This is the creamiest fudge ever and is sure to put a smile in those Irish eyes, says Heather. The fudge is easy to prepare and turns out super creamy. Take a look at Heather’s Bailey’s Irish Coffee Cream Fudge<\/a><\/strong> too. It tastes just like an Irish coffee. Paired together, these would be great gifts for friends.<\/p>\n

Karyn Ryan<\/a><\/strong> had quite the dilemma. What to do with extra Irish cream? “I’m fed up drinking it so I’m using it up in my baking,” decided Karyn. If you’re a fan of Irish cream, then you’ll be a fan of Karyn’s Irish Cream Chocolate Cookies<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The flavor is in every layer of this cookie. And that icing on top?! My oh my… I could eat it with a spoon! Definitely an adults only treat.<\/p>\n

“Careful after eating this delicious Irish cream dessert,” jokes Sheila Senghas<\/a><\/strong>. “You’ll be kissing the Blarney Stone for sure.” Who knew that pistachio and Irish cream would be such a great flavor combination! Four ingredients combine to make a creamy, flavorful Irish Cream Pistachio Parfait<\/a><\/strong> perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day party.<\/p>\n

Don’t be scared at adding Guinness to Linda Isaacs’<\/a><\/strong> Guinness Chocolate Cake<\/a><\/strong>. Surprisingly, it really enhances the flavor of the chocolate. The addition of sour cream makes this a wonderfully moist and delicious chocolate cake. If you are a chocolate lover then this is a must try. It’s a great recipe for leftover Guinness… and easy too!<\/p>\n
