Kid-friendly, fun treats can turn those long summer days into fond family memories… filled with good things to eat! Member Maven Argyle<\/b> has started a Discussion Group<\/a><\/b> especially for these kid-friendly cooking ideas and there has been no shortage of conversation!<\/p>\n

Carla Skiles<\/b> of Greeley, KS got us buzzing with her brilliantly simple solution for packing cupcakes on the go.<\/p>\n

“I am not sure where I got the idea, but I have used it for years for a little dessert to send in my kids lunches,” explains Carla. “I make cupcakes, let them cool and then cut them in half, spread the frosting in the middle like a sandwich, wrap them in plastic wrap and freeze them for when I need them or pop them into their lunch box. Hope this helps some of you. My kids are 15 and 11 now and ask for these regularly!” <\/p>\n

Oklahoma native Kimberly Roberts<\/b> gets the kids in on the act with her bright-as-can-be Tie Dye Cupcakes<\/a><\/b>. You would never guess from the snazzy end result that Kimberly whipped them up from plain white cake batter and her favorite food coloring! Her simple recipe is just the ticket for the busy mom or grandma looking to liven up the kids’ next birthday party or slumber party. Divide the batter and let the little ones make their own!<\/p>\n
