We found a recipe on Diane Homan&#8217;s blog, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/homanathome.com\/2016\/03\/bunny-cut-up-cake\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homan at Home<\/a> we thought was adorable and used that as our inspiration. If you&#8217;re a pro with a piping bag, this cake is for you. But if you&#8217;re not as good with piping work, we&#8217;re sharing an adorable, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justapinch.com\/blog\/articles\/read\/188098\/super-simple-candy-bunny-cake\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">super simple candy bunny cake<\/a> made with store-bought ingredients and decorated with candy.<\/p>\n<p>The result, a Pinterest Pass!<\/p>\n<h3>What You&#8217;ll Need<\/h3>\n<p><b>For Cake<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 white cake mix<\/li>\n<li>1 cup flour<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cup water<\/li>\n<li>8 oz. sour cream<\/li>\n<li>4 egg whites, beaten to a meringue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>You&#8217;ll Also Need<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your favorite buttercream recipe (doubled)<\/li>\n<li>Cake board<\/li>\n<li>4 piping bags<\/li>\n<li>Wilton&#8217;s Star Tip #18<\/li>\n<li>Wilton&#8217;s Tip #3<\/li>\n<li>A coupler (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Gel food coloring &#8211; Black for the face, pink for the nose and ears, plus whatever color you&#8217;d like for the bowtie (we chose purple)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Prepare the Cake<\/h3>\n<p>1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix white cake mix, flour, sugar, and salt.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>2. Add oil, water, and sour cream. Mix well.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>3. In a separate bowl, make a meringue with 4 egg whites.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>4. Gently fold the meringue into the cake mix.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>5. Pour into 2 round cake pans.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>6. Bake 40-45 minutes until tester comes out clean.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>7. Cool 10-15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>8. Invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>To Decorate the Cake<\/h3>\n<p>1. Make your frosting while cakes are cooling. Tint a small amount black and pink. Tint a small amount for the bow tie.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>2. Cut cake.<\/p>\n<p> <br \/>3. Put together on a cake board.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>4. With frosting in a piping bag, fill in all the gaps where ever you see a gap. This also helps glue the pieces together.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>5. Cover the whole cake with a thin layer of frosting all over the cake. This a crumb layer and it helps seal the crumbs in.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>6. Clean the edges up with a paper towel.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>7. Once the entire cake is covered, the crumb layer is complete. Chill it in the fridge for 1 hour.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>8. Use a toothpick to lightly draw the face and ear outlines.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>9. Use Wilton&#8217;s #3 and black frosting to outline the eyes and whiskers. Fill in eyes using Wilton&#8217;s #18 star tip.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>10. Use pink to outline ears and nose. Then fill in with the star tip. Using a coupler will let you switch tips easily. Switch to the star tip to fill in the black eyes.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>11. For the bowtie, use the star tip to create the tie. Add an extra layer of stars to provide dimension.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>12. Finally, using the star tip, take your white frosting and completely cover the rabbit. It&#8217;s easiest if you start in the finer areas and work your way out.  <\/p>\n<p><br \/>13. The finished product!<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Test Kitchen Tips<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>You do not have to make the cake we used. Just make sure your cake is sturdy enough to hold the frosting.<\/li>\n<li>Covering the entire cake does take time &#8211; a lot of it. It helps if you place the cake on a table and sit down while doing this.<\/li>\n<li>We highly recommend using a coupler on your piping bag.
