Aka, let’s not rest on our laurels with the classic version and make the BLT gourmet. It’s time to take the next step in our love for BLTs with these absolutely mouth-watering amazing ideas to make BLTs even better!
Our usual go-to for making something better is bacon...but since that comes standard on every BLT - we’re going for our next favorite...CHEESE! Imagine all your favorite BLT flavor but with the addition of ooey gooey melty cheese...just wow. We’re drooling now. Pssst...check out this goat cheese version. Obviously any cheese is good with us (like pimento cheese)!
Next we have the BLAT...aka the bacon lettuce avocado tomato sandwich. We’re big fans of adding avocado to sandwiches/tacos/salads/basically everything (except ice cream that’s weird), so us salivating over adding avocado to a classic BLT should be no surprise. We know you’re going to love it! Especially when paired with whole grain bread...it makes us feel like our BLT is healthy...somewhat.
Our love for fried green tomatoes knows no end, so replacing a traditional tomato with our green love was a no-brainer. Unfortunately many believe that BLTs are mostly for lunch...we say no to that! By adding more sustenance (such as crispy fried chicken, turkey, pork, salmon, crab cake, lobster, shrimp or mushroom) to your BLT, you’ll create a heartier sandwich that will fill up everyone for dinner!
Just because you’re vegan or vegetarian doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy all the deliciousness that is the BLT! By using salty and smokey tempeh, you can get your BLT fix without breaking your diet. Sounds like a win to us!
Getting creative with your sauce/condiments is a deliciously easy way to up your BLT game. By amping up your mayo, aioli, remoulade...etc, you can create a whole new version of your favorite sandwich. Here’s some ideas we have: basil, lemon, lime, dill, garlic, sriracha and honey. We’re drooling just thinking about it!
