Hearty Potato & Ham Chowder

This is a great dish for those cool days or evenings. Just serve it up with a fresh bagette...yummmm

1/4 c
ΒΌ cup butter or margarine
1 large
thinly sliced onion
3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
2 medium
potatoes cubed about 1/2" in size
4 c
1 tsp
1/4 tsp
2 c
cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1/2 c
honey ham (cubed)

Directions Step-By-Step

In a 3-quart saucepan melt butter. Stir in onion; cook over medium heat until tender (4-5 mins.). Stir in flour until smooth and bubbly. Stir in potatoes, milk, salt and pepper. Cover and continue cooking, stirring occasionally until potatoes are fork tender (about 25-30 mins.) Stir in cheese and ham. Continue cooking and stirring occasionally until cheese is melted and ham is heated through (about 2-3 mins.) Serve and enjoy!!!!
