This recipe goes way back to when there was a cabbage soup diet. Even though I ate a ton of it in my early years, I still love it. It's simple to make, too.

Ingredients For cabbage soup (peel-a-pound)

  • 1 sm
    head of cabbage
  • 1 bunch
    celery stalks
  • 1 lg
    green pepper
  • 6 md
    yellow onions
  • 3 lg
    cans diced or stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 jar
    beef bouillon, granules

How To Make cabbage soup (peel-a-pound)

    Chop up all of the veggies. I like mine chopped small.
  • 2
    Put the chopped veggies into a large soup pot and cover with water (several inches over the veggie line).

    Add the tomatoes and beef bouillon.

    Simmer until the veggies are tender, about an hour should do it. If your veggies are chopped bigger, you can allow an hour and a half.
