This is a very easy, very hearty soup that everyone loves. if you like thick creamy potato soup, you will love this. My boyfriend calls it potato gravy!!
I tend to use more of the spices as I like a little extra pizazz. Try it and see what you think....

Ingredients

5 lb
white potatoes. baked then diced into large chunks
1 large
white onion. sauté in bacon grease
1/2 lb
bacon. fried.
1/2 c
instant mashed potato flakes
32 oz
box chicken broth
1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 box
half & half. (4 cups)
1 box
heavy cream (2 cups)
4 c
milk
1 stick
butter
1/2 tsp
thyme
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
1/2 tsp
sage
1/2 tsp
pepper
1/2 Tbsp
salt

Step-By-Step

1In a large pot, combine all ingredients using about half of the bacon. Save the rest for garnish. Cook until bubbly then lower heat. Cook until it reached the desired thickness.
2use bacon, shredded cheddar, chopped onions, chives and/ or sour cream for garnish.
