Ingredients

1/2 lb
bacon
1 qt
tomatoes (4 cups more or less) canned or fresh and chopped
1 medium
onion, diced
4 c
cooked macaroni
salt to taste
1 Tbsp
pepper

Step-By-Step

1Cut up the bacon into 1/2 - 1 inch pieces, and saute in the soup pot until about half rendered. Remove the bacon with slotted spoon and dump in the onions. Saute until translucent and softened.
2Add the tomatoes and bacon back into the pot. Add the pepper and test for salt. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Shut off and let sit until about an hour before eating.
3Cook the macaroni and drain. Add to the tomato mix. Let simmer gently for about 30 minutes, checking for dryness. Add water if needed.
