Ingredients

5 c
beef cubes
2 Tbsp
flour
1 Tbsp
paprika
1 tsp
chili powder
2 tsp
salt
3 Tbsp
lard
2
onions, sliced

garlic clove, minced
28 oz
can tomatoes
3 Tbsp
chili powder
1 Tbsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
cloves, ground
1 tsp
dry crushed red peppers
2 c
potatoes, chopped
2 c
carrots, chopped

Step-By-Step

1Combine flour, paprika, salt and the one teaspoon of chili powder.
2Dredge beef cubes in the flour mixture and brown in hot lard in dutch oven.
3Add onion and garlic and cook until soft.
4Add tomatoes, chili powder, cinnamon, cloves and red peppers.
5Cover and simmer two hours.
6Add potatoes and carrots and cook until vegetables are tender (about 45 minutes).
