Ingredients For ham & cheese soup

  • 1 lg
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    celery, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 2
    bouillon cubes
  • 6 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    cheddar or american cheese, shredded
  • 1 pkg
    mixed vegetables, frozen, thawed
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 - 2 c
    ham, finely diced
  • parsley, chopped
  • pimento, chopped

How To Make ham & cheese soup

    Cook onion & celery in the butter about 8 minutes, do not brown. Blend in flour & mustard.

    Dissolve bouillon cubes in 2 C of hot water. Gradually add to first mixture & cook, stirring, until thickened. Then cook 3 minutes longer.

    Add milk & heat just to boiling. Add cheese & stir until melted. Stir in remaining ingredients, except last 2 & heat. Sprinkle with parsley & pimiento.
