Healthier version for casseroles.
This can be varied by using veg. broth, sauteed celery, celery seed, chopped sauteed mushrooms, chicken or whatever you choose.

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
butter
3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1/2 c
low sodium chicken broth
1/2 c
lowfat or skimmed milk
salt and pepper to taste

Step-By-Step

1Melt Butter in saucepan over med. low heat

2Stir in flour, stirring until smooth and bubbly

3Remove from heat and add broth and milk stirring to keep smooth

4Return to heat, bring sauce to gentle boi stirring constantly, until it thickens

5Add salt and pepper to taste
