I love clam chowder, even Campbell's out of the can. But in 1976 I was living in New England. We found this special restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine: The Cliff House, which makes clam chowder like no other.

The only thing I do is add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne and 1 tablespoon of chopped tarragon.
