Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my Great Aunt Allene Palmer.

Ingredients For green chili stew

2 lbbeef, cut in 1-inch cubes

1 Tbspoil

1 tspsalt

1 cbeef broth

1onion, chopped

2 ctomatoes

4 canchopped green chilies

1s smgarlic clove, chopped
How To Make green chili stew

1Heat oil in Dutch oven. Brown beef cubes in hot oil.

2Add remaining ingredients and simmer about 2 hours.

3Serve with pinto beans and French bread.
