The longer this cooks, the more the aroma drifts through the house and the anticipation will make you even hungrier! This was a comforting,hearty soup that's perfect for anytime, but will be great on a colder day.

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef
2 cups diced potatoes
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
4 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
!/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup chopped new mexico or anaheim green chile*
1 can 14 once diced tomatoes

Directions Step-By-Step

Fry beef in a medium-sized saucepan at medium heat until browned. Add potatoes and continue to fry until potatoes are golden brown.

Add onions, water, seasonings,tomatoes and Chile.

Cover and simmer at low heat until potatoes are tender. Serve hot.
