Ingredients For philly cheese steak soup

  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 1/2 lb
    rib eye steak, boneless, trimmed of fat, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 - 10 oz can
    french onion soup
  • 8 oz
    button mushrooms, fresh, sliced
  • 1 c
    provolone cheese, shredded, divided
  • 3 Tbsp
    green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 slice
    french bread

How To Make philly cheese steak soup

    In a 2 qt saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add beef pieces; sprinkle with salt & pepper. Cook & stir until browned. Add soups; heat to boiling. Reduce heat to medium low; simmer uncovered 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in mushrooms; cook until hot.

    Set oven to broil.

    Ladle soup into 2 bowls. Add 1/4 C cheese onto each bowl. Top each with bread slice. Add bell pepper & remaining cheese into each bowl.

    Place bowls on cookie sheet; broil 4" - 6" from heat source for 2 minutes or until cheese is bubbly & bread is toasted.
