Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef
1.5 c
onions, diced
1.5 c
potato, diced
1 c
carrot, diced
1/2 c
celery, diced
1
bay leaf
1 c
tomato
4 tsp
salt
6
bouillon cubes
1 c
cabbage, sliced
1.5 qt
water
1/4 c
rice
1
basil leaf
1/8 tsp
pepper

Step-By-Step

1Brown meat and onions in pan, stirring with fork to break up meat.

2Add all vegetables except finely cut cabbage.

3Add seasonings and meat to water in large pot.

4Bring to boil and simmer for 15 minutes.

5Add rice.

6Simmer for 45 minutes.

7Add cabbage, simmer another 45 minutes.

8Stir frequently.

9Serve with grated cheese.
