Can use this for any vegetable soup, beef stew, or whatever. I love cornmeal dumplings with any soup really.

Ingredients For cornmeal dumplings

  • 1/3 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • dash
    of salt
  • dash
    of pepper
  • 1
    egg white, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    oil

How To Make cornmeal dumplings

    Make dumplings by mixing together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Combine egg white, milk and oil. Add to flour mixture. Stir with fork until just combined.

    When whatever soup you have made is about 1/2 hr. from being done, put heat on high (in slow cooker) Drop dumpling mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls to make 8 mounds atop the soup.

    Cover. Cook for 30 minutes (do not lift lid)
