Ingredients

2 c
dried peas
1/2 c
diced ham (or a ham bone)
1
large onion
6 c
stock

Step-By-Step

1Soak the peas as directed on the bag.
2Dice onion and saute in a little oil or pork fat.
3Add peas, stock, and ham bone. Cook until peas are soft, about one hour.
4Remove ham bone and remove meat from bone, chop. Puree peas. Add ham meat. Heat.
5Serve with a little cream or parsley as garnish.
