Ellen's StoryOtherwise know as German Bean Soup, this soup is so easy and so hearty. It would make a perfect meal on a frosty winter night, along with some crusty bread or muffins.

The beans in the picture don't really look like pork and beans. Aren't those black eyed peas?

Believe it or not, this is the picture that goes with the recipe. It will have to do until I get a chance to make it myself and take my own pictures. I was thinking the same thing myself. And that looks more like sausage than ham, too. I will try to make this as soon as I can and get a better picture.
