Creamy Spicy Lentil Soup

When I became aware of the nutritional value of spices I began using them. There's a variety of ways to make lentils so during my experimentation I came up with this wonderful tasting soup that's a favorite. Hope you agree and gain as many compliments on it as I have.

Ingredients

1 c
lentils, dry

carrots
2
onions- 1 yellow, 1 white.
1 can(s)
tomato soup
1 tsp
oregano, dried,
2 Tbsp
chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp
cumin, paprika, parsley, basil, dried seasonings.

packets of crushed red pepper
3/4 tsp
cayenne pepper
1/2 c
half n half

segments of garlic
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
1
red pepper

LADLE MORE HALF N HALF AS DESIRED IN EACH SERVING TO COOL THE BURN.

Directions Step-By-Step

Fill stainless steel pot with water, then bring to a boil. Add lentils. Reduce heat to medium to cook.

Dice onions, red pepper & carrots, add to lentils.

Peel then Crush garlic segments. Then add to lentils & vegetables.

Permeate with spices. Cooking until finished.

Very important step: Add tomato soup cooking on low heat and stirring often preventing sticking to bottom of pot.

Cook & stir on Low heat until desired consistency 10-15 minutes.

Then serve into individual bowls. Offering half n half in a circular motion thus preventing a grey appearance. Provide a thick crusted bread as a side.
