Wow, when I tripped over this I knew i had to post it. How easy! Get the best caviar you can afford & go for it! This is truly a springboard recipe...red caviar seems to be the most commonly used in this recipe, but not an absolute. Black bread is traditionally Russian, but again, is not an absolute. I saw versions with butter, with mayo, with greens....try it & make it your own! Serve it as a snack, lunch, or part of a Russian Tea! I found this recipe everywhere while scouting out Russian recipes for Culinary Quest.
