dipped strawberries & banana treats
This was my hubby's Valentine's Day treat. I forgot to buy a gift or make decorated cookies, so decided to do some homemade dipped treats that I did not have time to do for the Christmas holidays. These fruit dips were simple to make and gave a smooth finish and glossy shine, with no need for tempering. You get a very professional look and so good!

How To Make dipped strawberries & banana treats
-
1Wash strawberries, set aside so they can get to room temperature to dry. For bananas, peel, cut into chunks and cover with a paper towel to dry. Also be sure that all containers and utensils are dry.
-
2MELTING DIRECTIONS: "Microwave method." Place candy making & dipping wafers in two separate microwave-safe containers; one for dark chocolate melting wafers and one for white chocolate melting wafers.
-
3Microwave at half power or defrost setting for 30 seconds. Stir thoroughly (product keeps its original shape until stirred). If not completely melted, continue to microwave at 15-second intervals and stir until smooth. NOTE: Overheating will cause wafers to burn.
-
4Hold each strawberry by stem and dip completely. Place coated strawberries on cookie sheet with waxed or parchment paper. For banana chunks, insert a toothpick, skewer or small fork at one end to dip completely. Also place on cookie sheet with waxed paper or parchment paper.
-
5While strawberries and/or bananas are still wet with dipped chocolate(s), decorate with drizzling chocolate using a fork or spoon, or just top with coconut and/or chopped walnuts.
-
6Cool in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes, or until hard. Serve and enjoy. See other various directions on the back of a Ghirardelli white or chocolate melting wafers package.
