In large bowl toss bacon and black pepper.
Dump brown sugar over bacon and coat well.
Cover baking sheet with foil. Lay bacon flat on a baking sheet. Cover with another sheet of foil. Bake for 20 minutes.
If the bacon isn't done after 20 minutes, cover and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. Set on wire rack to cool. The bacon will seem soggy-ish. But once cool it will be crisp!
