I give these as gifts every Christmas. They are wonderful with a nice, cold martini!

Ingredients

1/2 stick
butter
1/2 c
golden brown sugar
1/2 c
water
1 tsp
salt
2 tsp
chinese five spice powder
1/2 tsp
ground cumin
1/4 tsp
black pepper
4 c
pecan halves

Step-By-Step

1Preheat over to 350. Butter 2 large baking sheets. Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a large skillet. Add brown sugar, water, salt ansd spices. Stir until sugar desolves. Add nuts to sugar mixture and cook until syrup thickly coats nuts, stirring frequently, about 5 minues. Transfer nuts to a prepared baking sheet. Bake until golden brown. I find that the nuts take longer dedending on your oven. Just keep checking on them. Addictive!!
