This recipe was given to my Mother from a dear, sweet family friend named Pauline. I make it at Christmas time to give to my neighbors and friends. They all love it and even request it. It is such a delicious snack!

Ingredients For pauline's cracker jacks

  • COMBINE IN A LARGE PAN
  • 7 qt
    popcorn, popped
  • 1 1/2 c
    peanuts
  • 1-2 c
    pecans
  • IN A SAUCEPAN COMBINE
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 c
    white karo syrup
  • 2 stick
    butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • COOK UNTIL IT COMES TO A BUBBLING BOIL (SIMMER TYPE). SET OFF STOVE AND ADD
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla flavor
  • PUT BACK ON STOVE AND ADD
  • 1/2 tsp
    soda

How To Make pauline's cracker jacks

    Then beat with a wire whisk until it foams. Pour over the popcorn and nuts and stir until coated. Put in a large greased pan. (I spray with PAM). Cook for 1 hour at 250 degrees. Stir every 15 minutes while baking.

    Store in an airtight container. Note: This recipe may sound complicated but it is really easy to make and so delicious! I'll try to add a picture later.
