Ingredients For heavenly snack mix

  • 3 c
    square rice cereal
  • 3 c
    round oat cereal
  • 2 c
    small pretzel twists
  • 1 can
    6 oz of almonds
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp
    honey
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • confectioners' sugar

How To Make heavenly snack mix

    Preheat your oven to 250 degrees. In a large greased roasting pan, combine the two cereals, pretzels, and almonds. In a separate saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter or margarine, honey, and salt over medium heat. Stirring constantly, bring the liquid mixture to a boil, and boil for 1 minute. Remove the saucepan from the stove and stir in the vanilla and baking soda.

    Pour this mixture over the cereal mixture in the roaster pan. Stir until all of the dry ingredients are well coated. Bake for 45 minutes, and during this time stir the mixture every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and then transfer to a very large bowl. Sprinkle the confectioner's sugar over the warm mixture and toss to coat thoroughly. Let cool and store in an air tight container.
