candied spice nuts

I got this recipe from a former neighbor and just made my first batch today. Super easy to make and would make a nice hostess gift in a decorative bowl or tin. These do have a little kick to them but that's what I like about them. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Ingredients For candied spice nuts

  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 4 tsp
    water
  • 2 c
    mixed nuts or nuts of choice

How To Make candied spice nuts

    Line cookie sheet with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.

    In a 1 qt microwave safe bowl, combine all dry ingredients and stir.

    Add the water and stir with wooden spoon until mixed well.

    Microwave for 1 minute uncovered and stir.

    Add nuts, mixing well to coat.

    Microwave for 3 minutes stirring after each minute.

    Spread nuts evenly onton the foil. Let cool completely. Store in air tight container or freezer bag.
