If you're from the South, you've probably eaten fried dill pickles and loved them. If you've visited the South and had fried dill pickles, you order them every time you visit.

Ingredients For frickles

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 2 Tbsp
    barbecue rub or tony cachere's seasoning
  • 1/4 c
    prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    beer
  • 1 jar
    dill pickle slices
  • oil for frying

How To Make frickles

    Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees.

    In a wide flat pan, combine flour, cornmeal, and seasoning.
  • 3
    In a small bowl, make a slurry of mustard and beer.
  • 4
    Dip the pickle slices in the mustard mixture, then in the flour/cornmeal mixture.

    Slip slices into hot oil and deep fry until batter is browned. The pickles will float to the top when done.

    Remove pickles from the hot oil with tongs and drain on paper towels on a shallow plate.

    Serve with Ranch dressing or with your favorite dipping sauce.
