Turnip Greens and then some...

High in all kinds of good things... yet Mom still had to convince us kids to try them ... Moms rule was, " you have to try one bite before you can say you do not like something."
In most cases we'd eat!

Ingredients

5 lb
fresh picked turnip greens
5 lb
mustard greens
6 oz
country meat or ham hock
2 Tbsp
sugar
salt and pepper, to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

De-stem and wash turnip greens and mustard greens.

Wash in sink full of cold water 3 times to remove sand and grit.

Put in large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to boil.

Salt and pepper to taste, sugar and add country meat or ham hock.

Cook 3 to 4 hours on low boil or until tender.

Check water and stir with wooden spoon every 30 to 45 minutes.

Drain and cut into small pieces. Serves 4 to 6.
