I got this recipe from a newly wed couple who used it as a main dish when they were trying to reduce their meat bill.

Ingredients

2 can(s)
green beans
6 slice
thick bacon
1 medium
onion
6 slice
bread cubed
1 1/2 c
mayonnaise
1 can(s)
large whole tomatoes
1 c
sliced fresh mushrooms
2 clove
garlic chopped

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2In skillet fry bacon until soft not crispy. Remove from grease, drain and cool, before chopping it up into cubes.

3Add chopped onion, chopped garlic and canned tomatoes to bacon grease. Cook to soften tomatoes, gently chopping them up. As mixture begins to simmer add mayonnaise and allow to simmer about 10 minutes.

4Spray the inside of a 2 quart casserole. Turn the tomato mixture into casserole. Add the drained green beans, bread cubes, and bacon cubes and stir together.

5Cook in oven for 40 minutes.
