Clean the green beans by snapping off the ends and breaking them in half if you want. While doing this cook the bacon according to package directions.
Drain the pan leaving approximately 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in pan. Boil water in a large pot, when the water is at a rolling boil, add green beans. Cook green beans in water for approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on how crisp you want the green beans.
Melt the butter in the pan with the bacon fat, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add green beans to butter and garlic, heat the beans through. Cut or tear bacon into bite size pieces and add to the pan with the green beans. Mix well. Serve warm.
